Since injected fat cells come from your own body, they are not considered a foreign body and the healing process is reasonably short.

During the recovery period, which lasts 1 to 2 weeks, you are asked to avoid sitting on your buttocks.

You may experience some swelling and soreness. These sensations are normal and temporary.
Most patients return to work in 2 to 3 weeks.

During the recovery time, you’ll be monitored by Dr. Fanous to make sure that everything is under control. Meanwhile, you’ll also be able to ask all your questions and talk about your concerns.

One of the risks of fat injections is that the injected fat may be reabsorbed into your body. Usually, this may happen with about 10% of patients. In such a case, a second fat injection may be needed 1 to 2 years later. As for any surgical intervention, complications are possible but uncommon. They may include infection, bleeding, excessive scarring, muscle weakness, loss of movement, nerve weakness, loss of sensation, skin necrosis, asymmetry, anesthesia reactions, etc.

By following Dr. Fanous’ instructions, some of these risks may be reduced.
