Facial fat injection (lipo-injection) is performed by Dr. Fanous to enhance the cheeks, give volume to the lips and the rest of the face.
Your fat injection … without general anesthesia
at the Canadian Institute of Cosmetic Surgery
- This procedure may need to be repeated for an optimum result.
- There are no problems of rejection or allergic reactions.
- Part of the transplanted fat tends to shrink. This is why more fat volume than needed is usually injected.
- Local anesthesia with sedation is used, without general anesthesia. You can go back home the same day and rest properly.
Most patients experience some bruising and minimal discomfort. However, the swelling may last only for 1 to 2 weeks. However, a vast majority of patients are functional and presentable in 1 to 2 weeks.
It takes up to six months before the final result of surgery is apparent.
Although infrequent, some risks are possible following the injection. The resorption of the injected fat, infection, bleeding, excessive scar formation, skin necrosis, vascular embolism and irregularities of the skin are examples.
By following Dr. Fanous’ instructions, some of these risks may be reduced.
